It seems to be a custom to make cinnamon buns on a fast-day and I have to say I’m totally okay with that! Oh and I don’t think I need to say anything more about these buns I think the picture speaks for itself!
Tip: spray the dough and rolling pin with oil to make it roll out smoothly
Disclaimer: this dough recipe is not my own
Recipe: dough:
2 teaspoons yeast
3/4 cup warm water
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
3 cups flour
Filling: 3/4 cups brown sugar 1 Tablespoon cinnamon 1/2 cup(1 stick) divided Betterine Glaze: 1/4 cup Betterine 1 cup powdered sugar 2 teaspoon almond milk
Mix the yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let it sit for 5 minutes. Add the rest of the dough ingredients and mix well. Grease a bowl and place the dough there to rise for at least an hour. Roll out your dough to form a large rectangle. Smear 1/4 cup of Betterine on the dough. In a separate bowl put together the filling and then spread it out evenly on the dough. Roll the dough into a long log . Cut the log into half inch slices. Place in a pan and bake for about 30 minutes. Once the buns cool off drizzle some vanilla icing on them.
